Hi there, light duty towers. Today, we're going to be taking a look at CURT's 2" chrome ball.This is a class 2 ball, it's also going to work with class 1. And it has a 3/4" shank on the bottom, which is the diameter of our shaft coming out the bottom that's threaded. And it's also 2-1/8" long, which means that it'll work with drawbars that have a platform between 3/8" thick and 5/8" thick. And it's rated for a 3,500 pound gross towing capacity, which is going to be great for your small utility trailers, we've got one right here we're going to be hooking up to it, but also for other small trailers such as kayak carriers, and maybe a small jet ski trailer as well. The ball is a solid steel construction with a chrome plating on it to protect it against the elements, and it also gives it a nice look.One of the things you can do to help protect the finish and increase the life of your ball is grease it before every use. more

Today, we're going to be taking a look at Draw-Tite's one and seven eighths inch hitch ball with a three quarter inch shank. This ball is designed to work with both Class I and Class II hitches. Now this part will replace the hitch ball that's on your Curt secure latch combination pinto hitch with the hitch ball. This accepts two inch couplers. Also, it will accept the lunette ring with either a two and a half inch or three-inch inside diameter. As you can see, it does include the washer and the nut for installation. It does have a nice corrosion resistant zinc finish on both the ball and the hardware.When you go to install this, you'll drop it through, put your washer up, and then take your nut and go ahead and tighten that down to the factory torque specs.A few specs on this, the diameter of ball is two inches. more

That is sold separately if you want to get a whole new kit, you'd use that part number, but this is just going to replace the hitch ball itself.Now, it doesn't come with the pins to mount this to the shank of our ball mount itself so you will need to reuse your original pins or pick up some new ones.The whole thing is going to be made of a zinc-plated steel so it can be a very durable cast steel construction. This is what our offset ball looks like, it's going to be 2-5/16, and it's going to replace the ball that comes with the hitch kit. Now what this is going to do, it's going to provide you with more clearance between your cab and your trailer.You're simply going to drop into place, and it's going to move your pivot point point back four inches. So with the ball that comes with the kit, it's going to give you 7,500 pound vertical load limit, and a 30,000 pound gross towing capacity. When you switch to this offset ball, this is going to drop your total weight capacity, or towing capacity, to 20,000 pounds and your vertical load limit to 5,000 pounds. So keep that in mind.You always want to check your owners' manual, though, to make sure your vehicle can withstand the amount of weight and pick the lowest number between the two.This is going to have a nice powder coat finish to resist any corrosion, you can see it's nice thick steel so we're not going to have to worry about it bending or breaking. more

Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set Review 901B- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the Convert-A-Ball 1-7/8" and 2" Interchangeable Ball Set. The part number is 901B. It's a really nice system that allows you without having to remove this nut and get everything torqued back down properly to switch between an 1-7/8" and a 2" ball. Of course, it's got a 1" bolt diameter that comes down through the shank. On that we're going to have a lock washer and there's also a cotter pin just for an additional level of safety. Now this is the 1-7/8" ball that we've got installed. We'll just push on the pin that goes through it there, pull that through, it's going to allow us to remove the 1-7/8" ball and then place on the 2" ball. more
